Kardashian West Social Media Disagreement

Kim and Kanye are having a very common parental disagreement.  I’m Amy E. Feldman.

Kanye West objected to Kim Kardashian’s support for their daughter North’s social media account, writing on social media, “I need to know what I should do about my daughter being put on TikTok against my will.”  The issue of whether an ex-spouse can post photos or videos of a minor child or allow the minor to do so over an ex’s objection is a hotly contested issue between divorced spouses.

Obviously, it’s best when parents can come to an agreement on appropriate use and privacy settings.  Where they can’t, courts don’t generally prohibit a minor from having any social media presence unless it contains inappropriate or dangerous content or where the objecting parent can show that the post received disturbing comments or attention.  As for Kanye, it might be easier to convince a judge or an ex or the child of the dangers of social media if he isn’t using social media to complain about it.
