Real Housewife NeNe Leakes has some thoughts on the lawsuit brought against her by her boyfriend’s ex. I’m Amy E. Feldman.
The estranged wife of Real Housewives of Atlanta star NeNe Leakes’ new boyfriend filed a lawsuit against Leakes for alienation of affections, which is a law that gives a spouse the right to sue someone who inserted herself or himself into a loving marital relationship; it basically lets you sue the homewrecker who damaged your marriage.
Seems like a law from a bygone era, and today, you can only sue for that in six states, Mississippi, South Dakota, New Mexico, Utah, Hawaii, and North Carolina, where Leakes was sued. In an Instagram Live video, Leakes responded by saying “ain’t nobody out here stealing husbands.” And she’s probably right—the ex is still gonna have to prove Leakes led to the downfall of the marriage and not the spouse but even if the ex wins money, no one can win back a heart in court.
