A gambling addict just sued an online casino because he was repeatedly disconnected. I’m Amy E. Feldman.
Sam Antar, a self-professed gambling addict, just sued an Atlantic City Casino because he says its online betting site repeatedly disconnected him. According to his lawsuit, the glitches only happened when he was on a hot streak. The suit claims that because of the glitches, he lost hundreds of thousands of dollars ‘cause he was unable to cash out his winnings (because gambling addicts who are winning are likely to cash out?)
Here’s the thing for everyone who gambles online to know: online casinos require players to wager their deposit money a certain number of times before they can cash out, which they say in their terms and conditions of use to which you must agree before registering a betting account, so read them. And it’s gonna to be hard to prove that Mr. Antar would have kept winning if he hadn’t been cut off. That said, he might win the case. But I wouldn’t bet on it.
